PacketTrap Ends Alpha Testing of Network Management Solution pt360v1
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- PacketTrap Networks (www.PacketTrap.com) is pleased and relieved to announce the end of pt360 v1.1 alpha, and the beginning of v1.1 beta. On Jan. 9, 2008, the company entered into its private beta phase with 300 customers and will work diligently to incorporate their feedback into their network management solution. Representatives from Chevron Europe, GE Healthcare, and Siemens are among the group of beta participants joining nearly 4,000 additional users of pt360 v1.
PacketTrap's pt360 Network Management solution was released Nov. 27, 2007 and has received tremendous acclaim for its first-to-market integration of diagnostics tools with monitoring. The pt360's intuitive centralized dashboard, ease of implementation, integrated network monitoring and diagnostic tools and lack of bells and whistles differentiates it from the competition. The network management solution's support for open source tools, such as Nagios and Cacti, has been an equal contributor to the product's early momentum.
"Excellent design and execution. I am participating in the Beta program to improve upon what has been done," said Douglass Elliott, IT Director for Euro RSCG. "pt360 is already close to providing what most data centers need for network monitoring and troubleshooting without demanding additional cost for un-needed capabilities. I would highly recommend this product for usage. It baffles me that no one has been able to consolidate usable network tools like this before PacketTrap."
"PacketTrap is at an advantage because its approach to network management completely distinguishes it from what exists today," said Steve Goodman, CEO of PacketTrap Networks. "We feel the pain of IT departments caused by increasingly cumbersome technologies and decreasing budgets. We envision a solution that puts important network management tools at the fingertips of administrators, which to us, means one-click, drag and drop, unmatched dataflow and low cost. The beta program will tell us what features and functionalities we need -- making them manageable and easy to use is up to us."
At the end of this month, PacketTrap Networks will open its v1.1 beta program to the public. The purpose of the beta program is to determine what features and functions are needed for future releases. Parties interested in the public beta program can go to www.PacketTrap.com/download to participate.
About PacketTrap Networks: PacketTrap is favored for its ability to cleanly integrate open source technology with its own library of network diagnostic tools within a centralized network dashboard. PacketTrap's flagship solution, pt360 provides you with a personal look into your network and lets you complete bandwidth utilization, network discovery and other tasks from a single screen. It includes port scan, SNMP scans, TFTP server tools, reporting capabilities and more. PacketTrap believes most current offerings are point products lacking a central dashboard, integration and correlation. They are complex, expensive and/or poorly supported. PacketTrap is committed to providing solutions that are clean to use and integrated together.
